 The Opportunity:

LDIS LLC, A Tetra Tech Company, provides integrated engineering and design solutions for the Energy, Renewables, Water Treatment and Life Sciences markets and is looking to add a Structural Engineer V to the Structural Engineering department.   Today’s emphasis on Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG), and Decarbonization has begun and will continue to shape the face of the marketplace. In addition to conventional facility solutions and designs, our projects include Hydrogen Electrolysis, Ammonia Production Facilities, Renewable Natural Gas Processing, Emissions Reduction Studies, Carbon Capture and Sequestration, wastewater, pharmaceuticals, and much more.

Your Role:

•        Ability to lead a discipline engineering team on projects autonomously; supervise design personnel and other staff specialists•        Review and check designs; assists in the development of design guides, guide specifications and design control procedures•        Serve as the lead Engineer or technical expert on all projects. Planning and managing the engineering activities on a project•        Maintaining the schedule and budget of assigned projects•        Conducting engineering tasks while supervising work for a team of engineers assigned to a project•        Performs engineering calculations and develops analysis models for projects with supervision•        Mentor less experienced engineers, designers and drafters•        Interface with other disciplines, vendors, clients and contractors•        Prepares specifications detailing performance requirements, specific components, design requirements, applicable design codes, and vendor drawing requirements•        Visit vendor facilities and jobsites as necessary•        Prepare inquiry and purchase requisitions, bid tabulations on simple purchases, and reviews vendor drawings for compliance with specifications•        Demonstrate a focus on least cost, safe design


Qualifications:

Technical Skills•   Engineering of Grading, Erosion, and Sediment Control Plans for Site improvements •   Engineering of reinforced concrete foundations (spread footing, drilled piers, helical piles) •   Engineering of simple and complex structures (Pipe supports, pipe racks, platforms, equipment skids, etc.) •   Uses computer assisted design/drafting equipment and software to develop designs •   Uses Structural Engineering Software such as RISA, STAAD, MathCAD and spreadsheets  •   Responsible for setting up and maintaining an organized file system for design drawings •   Provide efficiency reviews and/or value engineering options for existing designs•   Ability to use a computer and computer software programs, including AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3D, CADWorx, Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook  •   Working knowledge of the latest edition of the IBC, ACI 318, and AISC •   Working knowledge of Site grading, BMP utilization, and drainage requirements
Administrative Skills •   Coordinate the best design solution by applying industry knowledge while considering customer needs and budgeting requirements •   Provide technical assistance for multiple projects during bidding, design, permitting and construction •   Ability to scope out a project and determine required deliverables•   Excellent written and verbal communication skills •   Excellent organizational skills   •   Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work well with a team or independently •   Work cooperatively with other designers and disciplines to produce a coordinated set of design documents•   Ability to estimate a project and manage the budget, develop change orders as necessary is preferred•   Communicate with clients, project personnel and inspecting authorities  •   Excellent organizational skills   •   Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work well with a team or independently •   Work cooperatively with other designers and disciplines to produce a coordinated set of design documents


Education and Experience:
