  • Develop repair scope recommendations and cause-and-origin analyses using building codes and engineering principles.
  • Review design drawings, specifications, and related documentation.
  • Communicate findings to clients, code officials, and contractors; prepare clear, defensible technical reports.
  • Manage multiple projects, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery.
  • Maintain and develop client relationships through professional service.
  • Travel as needed, sometimes on short notice.
  • Provide litigation support, including expert testimony, when required.

Qualifications

  • Education: B.S. in Civil or Architectural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
  • Licensure: Texas Professional Engineer (PE) license via NCEES examination; additional state registrations a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in structural engineering design or related roles.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with ICC, ASCE, AISC, ACI, NDS codes and standards; strong understanding of structural engineering principles and construction methods.
  • Skills: Excellent written and oral communication; ability to manage multiple projects; field experience required.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel on short notice.

Preferred

  • Experience with litigation support and expert testimony.
  • Familiarity with insurance claims and forensic methodologies.
  • CAT response experience (hurricanes, floods, earthquakes, fires).
  • Proficiency with structural analysis and drafting software.
