Job Description

  Job TypeFull-timeDescriptionPosition Summary: As an ENGEO Staff Engineer you’ll be exposed to a wide variety of project scopes, types, and technical challenges. You will be supported to take on responsibility quickly and encouraged to build technical chops, project management, and business development soft skills.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform site-specific seismic hazard and ground-response analysis.
  • Perform numerical modeling using finite-element methods as implemented in PLAXIS.
  • Design earth-retaining structures, slope stabilization, remedial grading, landslide mitigation, and foundations.
  • Perform settlement analyses, liquefaction analyses, and seismic evaluations.
  • Develop geotechnical recommendations, plans, and specifications for the construction of private and public projects.
  • Support field activities including exploratory logging, observation of deep foundation construction, shoring, grading operations, and other geotechnically relevant construction.
  • Complete field, analytical, and project administrative tasks with direction and support from peers and leadership.
  • Learn increasingly more complex, non-routine tasks with review and oversight from senior staff.

  • Sound knowledge of civil engineering fundamentals and soil mechanics

All Candidate Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree – Required; M.S. degree or Ph.D. in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering - Preferred
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Products. Numerical modeling, seismic hazard analysis, and GIS experience are a plus.
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic, and diverse environment
  • Ability to work and succeed as a team also while being resourceful when working alone in the field.

Salary DescriptionApproximate salary range: $70,000.00 to 85,000.00
