Job Description

SUMMARY

DEME is searching for a motivated Design Manager to reinforce the offshore wind foundation design team. If you are an experienced professional with relevant engineering expertise in the offshore structures domain, this is an excellent opportunity to join a dedicated team of engineers specialized in the successful delivery of design-build (EPCI) foundation and balance of plant (BoP) renewable energy projects, such as the innovative Saint-Nazaire and Arcadis Ost 1 projects. As a design manager, you will be leading the foundation design process of one of our offshore wind projects or tenders. Together, we work on DEME’s vision of creating a sustainable future.

  • Lead the foundation design process aimed at delivering an optimal foundation solution considering the full project life cycle, stakeholder requirements, and Client’s success criteria.
  • Manage an internal team of design and expert engineers for various design stages.
  • Interface with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and specialists for solving complex project challenges related to the design, fabrication, installation, and operation of offshore wind farms.
  • Provide engineering expertise and advice to support the successful execution of our offshore wind foundation projects and tenders, including review of reports and drawings from third-party design consultants.
  • Perform conceptual development and high-level calculations of potential foundation design solutions.
  • Support the commercial tendering process by reviewing tender documents and providing technical support to contractual Client meetings.
  • Lead the selection and contracting process of third-party design consultants.
  • Initiate and maintain design management tools throughout various design phases, including a design time schedule, opportunity and risk register, design decision register, and design management plan.
  • Lead and/or support in a range of innovative internal research and development studies.


  • Academic degree in civil, mechanical, or marine engineering;
  • at least 5 years of relevant working experience;
  • team player demonstrating initiative and effective communication skills;
