We have a current opportunity for a Sr. Structural Engineer- Grand Rapids on a permanent basis. The position will be based in Grand Rapids.ROLE SUMMARY:As a Structural Engineer, you are a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) with expertise in developing and translating structural systems for diverse project building types within a multi-disciplinary team. Working under senior supervision, you contribute to the design and development of structural systems, conducting analysis, and managing modeling assignments. Your responsibilities span from conceptual design to final construction documentation, adhering to established design principles, project budget, and schedule.WHAT YOU WILL DO:Project Quality:

  • Grasp the project's overall design intent and incorporate it into detailed documentation.
  • Collaborate on various project types, preparing building models and detailed contract documents.
  • Work closely with team members to meet aggressive project schedules.
  • Coordinate with internal disciplines and external consultants on technical project components.
  • Develop project specifications and propose control strategies for budget management.

  • Maintain positive relationships with client representatives, instilling confidence in your expertise.
  • Embrace the iterative design process and execute work in a timely manner.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree: Bachelor's in Civil Engineering (EAC/ABET-accredited program), Master's degree preferred.
  • Licensure: Licensed PE with current license, NCEES registration, and NSPE membership preferred. CSI-CDT and LEED AP BD+C/WELL AP certifications are advantageous.
  • Experience: Minimum 8 years post-graduate structural engineering experience with knowledge of the engineering and documentation process. Experience in structural analysis, designing, and quality assurance/control processes preferred.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of Revit or AutoCAD, experience with RISA or RAM Elements, proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Project, SharePoint, and Teams experience is a plus.
