But where should you head to if you want to follow this career?
After analyzing the Civil, Environmental and Construction Industry job posting data from CEECareers.com for 2022, we are now able to show you the hottest places with the highest demand for environmental engineering jobs.
There is significant demand for environmental engineers in the U.S., as shown in the map below. In total, 435 environmental engineering jobs were posted in the US out of a total of 3,763 posted throughout the year. Env. Engs are sought throughout the country, and especially on the West and East Coasts, as well as in Texas.
For 2022, the best place for an environmental engineer to look for a job lies in the Northeast Coast. New York, with 10.87% of total jobs posted seems to have the best opportunities!
Then we move to the South, to find Texas in second place, with 9.68% of the jobs posted during 2022.
The next two places belong to the West Coast, with California concentrating 8.10% and Washington 7.71% of the available positions in 2022.
The four aforementioned states stand out, as the remaining states gather less than 5% of the job posts each. Florida takes the fifth place with 4.94%, New Jersey and Illinois follow with 4.15% each and Pennsylvania, Colorado and Ohio close the top ten having 3.95%, 3.36% and 3.16% of the job posts, respectively.
