Using job posting data from CEEcareers.com, covering Civil, Environmental, and Construction Engineering (CEE) roles, we analyzed hiring activity for 2025 and compared it with the 2024 results. This analysis highlights how demand has shifted geographically year over year.

Leading States in 2025

In 2025, California continues to rank first nationwide, accounting for 10.13% of all CEE job postings. Although slightly lower than its 10.74% share in 2024, California remains the largest single market for civil engineering roles.

Florida moves into second place in 2025 with 8.50%, overtaking Texas. This represents a noticeable increase compared to 6.59% in 2024, indicating stronger relative demand year over year.

New York holds third position with 7.52%, up from 6.88% in 2024, reinforcing its role as a consistent East Coast hub for CEE employment.

Texas, which ranked second in 2024 at 8.71%, shifts to fourth place in 2025 with 6.32%, reflecting a relative decline in its share of national postings.

Pennsylvania remains stable, ranking fifth in both years. Its share in 2025 stands at 5.81%, nearly unchanged from 5.82% in 2024
