Environmental Science Intern – Ann Arbor, MI
Are you passionate about protecting our planet’s most vital resource? LimnoTech is seeking a driven, curious, and motivated Environmental Science intern to join our team this summer. As an intern, you won’t just be shadowing experts—you’ll be contributing to real-world solutions for complex water challenges.

The Opportunities
This position is for an environmental science intern. Example projects that the intern could work on are listed below. Each project will have an assigned mentor and some may have a hands-on field work component to ensure you can connect your skills to real-world environments. Candidates should possess skills in one or more of these project areas.

  • Project 1: Sustainability & Water Stewardship Work at the intersection of science and strategy. You will support our team in developing water stewardship goals and sustainability frameworks for diverse clients. This role is ideal for Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering majors interested in how data-driven insights lead to better corporate and municipal water management.
  • Project 2: Hydrology & Fieldwork Get your boots on the ground. We need interns with a background in Environmental Science or Hydrology to assist with critical fieldwork. You’ll support data collection, water quality monitoring, and hydrologic assessments, gaining hands-on experience with the tools and techniques used to evaluate aquatic ecosystems. The internship will involve fieldwork, so please be prepared and capable of working outside and traveling within the region.


This position is expected to start in mid-May of 2026 and last through mid-August. Activities will be in-person, Monday through Friday (anticipated 40 hours/week). This internship is a paid hourly position is based out of our Ann Arbor office.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a degree program in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Hydrology, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills and a desire to learn.
  • Willingness to travel within the Great Lakes region for field assignments (Project 2).
  • Must be legally able to work in the U.S. (proper documentation required)
