Learn more by visiting www.geosyntec.comESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESIs this the right position to help you achieve your professional goals? Some of the key responsibilities for the position include:

  • Field work such as groundwater, surface water, soil, soil gas, and indoor air sampling; drilling and remediation contractor oversight; and mitigation and remediation system operation, monitoring, and maintenance;
  • Chemical data and contaminant fate & transport evaluation, including assessment of vapor intrusion risks;
  • Contamination assessment services such as designing and implementing sampling plans and pilot test programs;
  • Remedy evaluation, cost estimation, design calculations, and implementation;
  • Data management and analysis, including preparing maps, tables, and figures; and
  • Preparation of technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals.

  • Training: This position requires 40-hour OSHA health and safety, first aid, and CPR training and medical monitoring, paid for by the firm. We also offer professional development opportunities including in-house seminars, webinars, and mentoring, that allow our professionals to build the technical and business skills necessary to become successful consultants.
  • Fieldwork: Up to 50%
  • Overnight travel: Up to 40%

  • Bachelor's degree in geology/hydrogeology, geochemistry, environmental, civil, or chemical engineering, or a related field. (required)
  • Advanced degree in geology or environmental engineering. (preferred)
  • Engineer in training (EIT), geologist in training (GIT), or similar certification. (preferred)

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior research or work experience in contaminated media or remediation technology. (preferred)
  • Prior internship or work experience in environmental consulting. (preferred)
  • Experience with ArcGIS, Earth Volumetric Studio (EVS), AutoCAD, Microsoft Access, MODFLOW, Sanitas, ProUCL, or programming languages (e.g., Python, R). (preferred)
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
