EXP is looking for an Environmental Field Technician (Co op/Student) to join our team in Brampton or Hamilton, ON. Reporting to the Manager, Environmental Services, you’ll gain hands on field experience in a collaborative, fast paced environment. This role is ideal for students who are motivated, curious, and excited about environmental fieldwork.What a day at EXP has in store for you

  • Assist with field investigations such as test pits, borehole drilling, and soil and groundwater sampling
  • Support environmental assessments, including Phase I and II ESAs, Records of Site Condition work, and excess soil documentation
  • Help with on site remediation activities (e.g., tank removal oversight, soil or groundwater cleanup). 
  • Participate in monitoring programs and contribute to field notes, documentation, and basic reporting
  • Work closely with senior technicians and environmental scientists to support project execution

 What your experience looks like

  • Currently enrolled in an Environmental, Geological, Civil Technology program or a related Natural Sciences degree
  • Previous exposure to environmental fieldwork (drilling, sampling, or remediation) is an asset but not required
  • Willingness to work outdoors and travel within Ontario as needed
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team
  • Basic computer skills (MS Office)
  • Valid G class driver’s license and access to a vehicle for field visits
  • Organized, self-motivated, and able to manage tasks independently with guidance
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations or building systems is a bonus, but training will be provided
     

This job posting is for an existing position vacancy within our organization.The hourly range for this role is between $21- $24. The actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location.
