Job Description

What we are looking forSCS Engineers is looking for a Senior Project Advisor with expertise in the solid waste industry to join our team and support our solid waste consulting practice in the Mid-Atlantic market. The duties of this position involve: 1) assisting on due diligence assignments related to solid waste assets for potential mergers and acquisitions; 2) assisting clients with permitting as well as evaluations and studies that guide the decision-making process as they implement solid waste management programs and facilities that accomplish their waste collection, landfill, transfer, recycling, energy recovery, and other waste-related activities, goals, and objectives; and, 3) performing business development efforts and building client relationships. This is expected to initially be a part-time position with opportunities to expand into a full-time position.How you can make an impactThe ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of the planning, permitting, operational, and financial aspects of typical solid waste management programs (collection, processing, and disposal) and facilities (convenience centers, transfer stations, MRFs, landfills, waste-to-energy), have intimate knowledge of solid waste management policies and regulations, have a comprehensive in-depth understanding of the scientific principles associated with management of wastes and recyclable materials, demonstrate extensive expertise with solid waste management data analytics, and have experience with solid waste management operations.Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in engineering, science, finance, or some other related degree required.
  • Twenty or more years of experience in solid waste industry work endeavors concentrating in waste collection, recyclable material processing, or waste disposal required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of solid waste planning and permitting, financial analyses, waste/recycling facility operations, and typical steps associated with development and implementation of solid waste programs and facilities.
  • Skills in business development, client relations, client success, and contract management.
  • Valid drivers license with a driving record in good standing required.
