Job Description
Position Overview:As the Director of Geotechnical Engineering, you will play a pivotal role in leading our geotechnical engineering team, driving technical excellence, and contributing to the successful delivery of projects. You will be responsible for overseeing geotechnical investigations, providing expert guidance on foundation design, and managing the geotechnical aspects of various civil and infrastructure projects.Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership:
- Provide strategic leadership to the geotechnical engineering team, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Mentor and develop team members, promoting professional growth and technical expertise.
- Project Management:
- Lead and manage geotechnical investigations and studies for a variety of projects, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery.
- Collaborate with project managers and other engineering disciplines to integrate geotechnical considerations into overall project designs.
- Technical Expertise:
- Provide technical expertise in geotechnical engineering, with a focus on foundation design, slope stability, and soil-structure interaction.
- Review and approve geotechnical reports, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
- Client Interaction:
- Act as a key point of contact for clients on geotechnical engineering matters, building and maintaining strong client relationships.
- Participate in business development activities, including proposal preparation and client presentations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on geotechnical engineering; advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of Texas.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, with a track record of successful project management.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
