Job Description

  DescriptionYour role at GEI.  Essential Responsibilities & Duties  Perform bio resources and agricultural engineering and civil design engineering related to water resources project development.  Tasks including design and construction of water conveyance and recharge facilities, conjunctive management of surface and groundwater supplies, water balance calculations, preparation of CAD design drawings, groundwater and agricultural water project specifications, GIS, construction management, and project reporting and invoicing support.  Calculations in support of design for groundwater pumps and motors, water conveyance pipelines and canals, flood control structures, hydroelectric facilities, and other infrastructure projects will be conducted under the supervision of an experienced, licensed engineer.  An excellent opportunity to learn from our senior staff and gain a wide range of experience. Candidates will work with engineers and other technical resource staff to contribute to development of projects from conception to completed construction. Field engineering and project site work will be assigned.   Minimum Qualifications 

  • Pursuit of a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in BioResources and Agricultural Engineering, or Civil, with a design and construction management emphasis on water related projects, including water conveyance and recharge facilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, willingness to travel on temporary assignments as needed.
  • Interest in design, cost estimating, and construction management activities is desired.
  • Preferred experience with AutoCAD drawings and willingness to learn bid document preparation, plans and specification development, and construction management activities.
  • A valid driver's license and be willing to work in the field as required.
  • Ability to perform field work in active constructions sites year-round without restrictions, and in inclement weather if required.
