Engineer 2 Water/Wastewater (hybrid)

Columbus, Ohioms consultants, inc. is actively seeking an Engineer for immediate employment working in our Columbus, Ohio office. The successful candidate will support the Water Business Unit in projects and serve on project teams planning and designing parks & recreation projects with focus on infrastructure for public and private clients.By joining ms, you will be part of a team that has provided complete drinking water, wastewater, and water resource engineering services to improve water quality in communities across the nation for more than four decades. Help us help improve our communities, one drop at a time! What You'll Do:

• Assist the water and parks & recreation group project managers on design and planning projects including engineering calculations, construction cost estimation, construction plan sheet creation, and technical reports.
• Take part in designing site layouts, water and wastewater utility alignments and equipment, grading plans, stormwater management facilities, parks amenities, and other utility facility locations.
• Interacting with clients, contractors, other design firms, regulatory agencies, local government representatives, and multi-disciplinary design teams.
• Being involved with projects from a planning and conceptional phase through design and regulatory processes, bidding and construction to facility opening.
• Assist with bidding and construction services including contractor selection, RFI, submittal, and shop drawing reviews, communicating design intentions to contractors, and project closeouts.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or other relevant fields.
• Engineering Intern (EI) License preferred or ability to obtain in 12 months.
• Capable of using spreadsheets, word processing and standard office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in water, wastewater, environmental, or municipal engineering services.
• Experience with project planning, construction cost estimation, master planning, design of parks & recreation specific infrastructure, and construction administration.
• Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, Microsoft Projects, and Microstation.
