We are currently seeking an experienced Civil Design Engineer to work in a design role with highly skilled professionals on diverse project teams in a dynamic environment. We offer engineers the opportunity to work on challenging environmental services projects for a wide range of clients.  Projects include general site civil/geotechnical, water resources management, waste management, remediation, and contaminated site management. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing team and get involved in a variety of projects for a diverse range of clients.  This is a full-time hybrid position located in Oakland, CA or Walnut Creek, CA.  Other locations or a remote role may be considered for the right candidate.DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate will:

• Develop detailed construction drawings and technical specifications.
• Determine material estimates based on designs.
• Assist with technical oversight, task planning, and task management for staff level team members on diverse design teams
• Provide meaningful technical guidance and mentoring to staff level team members.
• Interface with contractors and internal staff on the Engineer-of-Record’s behalf during the construction phase of design projects.
• Develop technical approaches and complex contaminated sites and identify opportunities to optimize/innovate existing and new procedures and systems.
• Draft technical sections of project communications and reports.
• Comply with the Guiding Principles and Code of Behavior articulated in our Company Charter.
• Comply with Company and client Health & Safety protocols.

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

• B.S degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering.  M.S. degree welcomed.
• 5-10 years of environmental engineering and/or consulting experience with specific experience in the preparation of detailed engineering design packages and supporting engineering analysis/consulting for some of the following project types: site civil development, excavation-based remediation projects, landfill and leachate systems design and closure, stormwater collection, conveyance, and treatment systems, and/or environmental permitting.
• Professional engineering registration in core discipline, or ability to obtain within one year.
• Experience with the full range of an environmental project lifecycle, including feasibility studies, conceptual design, budgetary cost development, detailed design, and contractor selection.
• A past background with the in-field construction of civil/environmental engineering/site development/waste management projects is a plus
• Experience with planning and managing project tasks and working effectively with multi-discipline technical teams
• Ability to succeed in a team-oriented environment, interfacing with a variety of different groups, to accomplish project objectives.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate with clients, senior project engineers and staff
• Strong computer literacy skills including proficiency in industry standard Microsoft software. Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is expected. Experience with HydroCAD or similar hydrologic modeling software is a plus.
• OSHA 40-hr. HAZWOPER training preferred, but not required.

Actual compensation will be based upon a variety of factors such as education, related work experience, certificates, skills, and current market conditions.
