  • Fieldwork such as soil, soil vapor, and groundwater sampling, drilling and contractor oversight, and remediation treatment system operation and maintenance;
  • Monitor activities on job sites to ensure compliance with relevant contract documents (e.g., technical specifications, construction drawings, sampling plans, CQA plans) and health and safety protocols;
  • Chemical data and contaminant fate & transport evaluation;
  • Well installation, aquifer testing, and groundwater monitoring;
  • Groundwater, soil, and soil vapor remedy evaluation, cost estimation, design calculations, scheduling, and implementation;
  • Environmental due diligence, regulatory compliance services, and permitting;
  • Data analysis, including preparing maps, tables, and figures; and
  • Preparation of technical reports, letters, design drawings, plans, specifications, and proposals.

  • Training: This position requires health and safety, first aid, CPR, and other training, as well as medical monitoring, paid for by the firm. We also offer professional development opportunities including in-house seminars, webinars, and mentoring, that allow our employees to build the technical and business skills necessary to become successful consultants. 
  • Fieldwork: Up to 60%
  • Overnight travel: Up to 30%

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental, civil, or chemical engineering. (required for engineering candidates)
  • Bachelor’s degree in geology or environmental science. (required for geologist or scientist candidates)
  • Advanced degree in environmental, civil, or chemical engineering, geology, or environmental science. (preferred)

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior research experience in contaminated media or remediation technology. (preferred)
  • Prior internship experience in environmental consulting. (preferred)
  • Experience with ArcView, Microsoft Access, Modflow, and/or EVS. (preferred) 
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)

The typical base salary range for this position is just one component of Geosyntec’s total compensation package for employees. Based on state and federal requirements, this position may be hourly and overtime-eligible or salaried eligible for straight-time overtime. Actual compensation will be determined based on education, experience, skill set and location.

  • Minimum Wage: $23.90/hour or $64,480/year / Maximum Wage: $31.00/hour or $77,505 (Oakland, Walnut Creek)
