Job Description

We are currently searching for an experienced Transportation Designer to support our Southwest Region located in Tulsa, OK. What you’ll be doing:
- Prepare quantities and develop PS&E packages supporting highway design projects
- Prepare temporary traffic control plans and traffic management plan (TMP) as part of maintenance of traffic (MOT) activities
- Prepare permanent signing and pavement marking plans
- Prepare traffic signal design plans for new intersections and signal modifications to facilitate multimodal accommodations
- Prepare streetlight design plan and perform photometric analysis using AGi32
- Prepare Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) design plans
- Assist in preparing conceptual intersection layouts, schematics, signal timings and engineering reports
- Attend project meetings with clients as needed
What you need to have:
- BS in Civil Engineering
- 0 - 4 years of transportation engineering experience
- Proficiency in MicroStation and/or AutoCAD
- Familiarity with DOT traffic design standards, MUTCD and AASHTO
- Familiarity with traffic programs including Synchro/SimTraffic, HCS
- Local state DOT experience is preferred
- Self-starter and capable of completing tasks with minimal oversight
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written
