While this position requires both field and office work, the candidate should expect to spend 95% of their time in the field.   As part of our Resilience Environment team, you’ll help improve quality of life. With your expertise in geology or environmental science your work will involve a range of remediation, sampling, and monitoring activities as directed and in accordance with relevant Health and Safety or other operational standards.Role accountabilities:In this role, your responsibilities will involve actively participating in field work independently and teaming with professionals from other disciplines to develop and implement multi-discipline solutions. These activities include drilling oversight for soil sampling and/or groundwater well installation, groundwater sampling, excavation oversight, operation and maintenance of remediation systems, and vapor intrusion/soil gas surveys. You will be responsible for detailed field data collection, analysis, and interpretation on electronic devices and submitting work plans and reports.Another crucial aspect of your role will be the ability to comply and steward Arcadis and client health and safety requirements. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, possess independent thinking skills, and excellent written and oral communication skills. Candidates must have a good driving record, be willing to work outside in all weather conditions and for extended periods. Candidates must also be able to meet the physical demands associated with performing fieldwork, including lifting heavy equipment, working in a standing position for extended periods of time, etc. Core Duties:

  • Coordinate and perform fieldwork which may include drilling oversight for soil sampling and/or groundwater well installation, groundwater sampling, excavation oversight, operation and maintenance of remediation systems, and vapor intrusion/soil gas surveys.
  • Exhibit independent thinking skills and able to work successfully with minimal daily supervision.
  • Field data collection, analysis, and interpretation
  • Detailed field note collection on electronic devices and/or in legible handwriting.
  • Oversight of subcontractors during monitoring well installation, development, and abandonment.
  • Task planning and coordination.
  • Environmental permitting.
  • Technical writing, specifically work plans and reports.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science in Geology, Environmental Science, or closely related discipline.
  • Valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of related experience
  • Experience working on mechanical systems (pumps, blowers, etc) or willingness to learn.
  • 40-hour HAZWOPER training certificate
