Job Description
Your role at GEI.GEI is seeking a remediation design engineer to join our growing Atlanta, Georgia office, which will be located in the Vinings area. Essential Responsibilities & Duties
- Lead or assist engineering and design efforts for sediment remediation projects
- Support engineering lead on development of dredge, sediment capping, and channel realignment designs
- Vapor intrusion assessment, mitigation, and response; in situ/ex situ groundwater remediation design and implementation; soil remediation system design and implementation; and remediation system operation, maintenance, and optimization
- Support projects ranging from simple and small to large, complex industrial facilities, to major federal facilities
- Prepare investigation, design, and monitoring reports
- Participate on technical teams working across multiple offices throughout the country, problem-solving, preparing plans and specifications, and meeting with clients and subcontractors
- Regional travel likely
Minimum Qualifications
- General understanding of CERCLA
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
- At least five years experience in Environmental Remediation
- Current EIT
- Experience with sediment remediation
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Adaptable to constant changes in workload and a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with vapor intrusion/mitigation, groundwater, and soil remediation, and remediation
- Familiarity and/or experience with detailed design and specification preparation
- P.E. or the ability to obtain a PE license within the next two years
