GZA GeoEnvironmental, Inc. (GZA) is seeking a Hydrogeologist Project Manager with 5 to 15 years of experience to support our environmental/hydrogeologic investigation and remediation, and groundwater exploration practices in Bedford, NH.  A strong academic record, quantitative hydrogeologic and contaminant transport academic background and experience are essential for this position.

As a Hydrogeologist Project Manager, you will be part of a team of professionals including Scientists, Engineers, Project Managers, and Principals. Our solutions focused and collaborative culture will allow you to work on challenging projects and grow professionally.  You will be mentored by seasoned professionals, who will in turn look to you to share technical knowledge and ideas.  Our success relies on this collaborative environment, which includes participation on projects and within technical practice groups throughout GZA’s many offices.  

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Conducting technical analyses/calculations, including hydrogeological and contaminant transport and fate analyses.
  • Performing technical execution of projects under the supervision of Principals
  • Design and execution of field investigation and remediation programs
  • Preparation of reports, recommendations, plans, proposals, and schedules with Principal guidance and review
  • Managing project teams, delegating to office and field staff and executing day to day activities of projects
  • Field and office QA/QC review
  • Internal and external client/contractor communications
  • Managing project contractual requirements (including terms of agreement, changes in scope, invoicing, and accounts receivable)
  • Preparation of subcontracts and managing subcontractors
  • Participating in staff training, and staff reviews
  • Managing and mentoring of staff-level and project-level engineers


Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, or Hydrology.Groundwater Engineering, or similar technical discipline. Master’s Degree strongly preferred.
  • Licensure as a Professional Geologist or Professional Engineer strongly preferred.
  • Five to fifteen years of related environmental project management experience
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical capabilities
  •  
  • Ability to train others
  • Strong communication skills, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Working knowledge of common numerical modeling software such as, GMS, Visual Modflow, GW Vistas, EVS, etc.
  • Database, CAD or ArcGIS a plus
  • 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER a plus
