Learn more by visiting www.geosyntec.comESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESIs this the right position to help you achieve your professional goals as you move to the next stage of your career?  Some of the key responsibilities for this Financial Analyst position include:

  • Work with the Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis to ensure timely and accurate year end audits;
  • Assist with maintaining the operating budget financial model;
  • Assist with federal costing compliance for federal projects; including preparation of the annual Incurred Cost Submission to the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA);
  • Assist with month-end processes and P&L reviews;
  • Maintain a thorough and up-to-date understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, financial reporting requirements, and the general ledger structure, to support company reporting needs;
  • Gain an understanding of government Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) and the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and ensure adherence to these rules;
  • Document procedures related to areas of responsibility;
  • Assist Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis with internal review of compliance with Company’s financial policies;
  • Respond to inquiries from the Chief Financial Officer, Controller, and other Accounting and firm wide managers regarding financial results, and special reporting requests; and
  • Support Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis with special projects, surveys, reporting, workflow process improvements, and other duties as assigned.

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with a major in accounting or finance. (required)
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification or currently pursuing. (preferred); as a result, the ability to maintain a minimum of 40 hours of continuing education units (CEUs) per year. (preferred)

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • One year of experience in accounting, auditing and/or compliance. (preferred but not required)
  • Up-to-date knowledge of generally accepted accounting (GAAP) principles. (required)
  • Working knowledge of mid-tier or higher accounting software. (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. (required)
  • Experience with project accounting systems and building database and current or prior public accounting experience. (preferred)
