Learn more by visiting www.geosyntec.comESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESIs this the right position to help you achieve your professional goals? Some of the key responsibilities for the position include:

  • Performing fieldwork such as soil, soil vapor, and groundwater sampling, drilling and geological soil logging, subcontractor oversight, aquifer testing, geophysical investigations, and remediation system O&M.
  • Analyzing contaminant data for spatial and statistical trends.
  • Assessing geological conditions to support contaminant fate & transport evaluation.
  • Developing data visualizations including maps, tables, and figures.
  • Providing environmental due diligence, regulatory compliance, and permitting support services.
  • Preparing technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals.

  • Training: This position requires OSHA health and safety, first aid, and CPR training and medical monitoring, paid for by the firm. We also offer professional development opportunities including in-house seminars, webinars, and mentoring, that allow our professionals to build the technical and business skills necessary to become successful consultants.
  • Fieldwork: Up to 50%
  • Overnight travel: Up to 20%

  • Bachelor’s degree in geology or environmental science (required)
  • Advanced degree in geology or environmental science. (preferred)

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong oral and technical writing skills. (required)
  • Detail-oriented work ethic and demonstrated ability to solve problems. (required)
  • Collaborative attitude and interest in working in a team environment.
  • Interest in a long-term career development and goal setting.
  • Experience evaluating digital data using spreadsheet software (e.g., Microsoft Excel). (required)
  • Experience managing data using database software (e.g., Microsoft Access). (preferred)
  • Experience with geostatistical software (e.g., Earth Volumetric Studio) or geographical information system software (e.g., ArcGIS). (preferred)
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python or R. (preferred)
  • Field experience with contaminated media, remediation technology, or vapor intrusion. (preferred)
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
