Key Responsibilities
- Lead geotechnical projects from proposal preparation through design and construction support
- Perform and oversee geotechnical analyses for deep and shallow foundations, retaining structures, earthworks, and slope stability
- Plan and manage subsurface exploration programs, field investigations, drilling operations, and laboratory testing efforts
- Prepare and review geotechnical reports, technical recommendations, specifications, and engineering calculations
- Evaluate geotechnical risks and develop practical solutions for challenging site conditions
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, regulatory agencies, and multidisciplinary project teams
- Provide technical oversight and quality review of engineering deliverables
- Manage project budgets, schedules, staffing, and client expectations
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the ongoing development of technical staff
- Support business development initiatives and strengthen existing client relationships
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a related discipline
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- 10+ years of geotechnical engineering experience
- Strong background in transportation, bridge, water resources, or heavy civil infrastructure projects
- Experience managing geotechnical investigations and preparing technical reports
- Knowledge of foundation engineering, soil mechanics, earth retention systems, and geotechnical design
- Proven project management and client-facing experience
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to travel periodically throughout Indiana and the Midwest as required
