OPPORTUNITY Helical Drilling, an employee-owned company, is seeking a hands-on, seasoned Senior Project Manager to lead complex specialty geotechnical construction projects, mentor and manage project team members, and play an active role in continuing to grow our business throughout the New England region. This is not a consulting role. We are looking for an experienced construction professional with a strong background in project leadership, estimating, business development, team management, project oversight, scheduling, client relationships, and risk management within specialty geotechnical construction. The ideal candidate will bring the technical knowledge, leadership experience, and sound judgment needed to oversee projects from initial opportunity and estimating through execution and closeout. This individual will provide guidance and oversight to Project Managers and project teams, identify and manage project risks, strengthen client relationships, and help drive the continued growth and success of the Specialty Division. The right candidate will be able to hit the ground running, take ownership of both projects and people, make confident decisions with limited oversight, and serve as a senior leader within the team. RESPONSIBILITIES Lead multiple geotechnical construction projects from estimating and proposal development through construction and closeout. · Manage project teams, schedules, budgets, contracts, and client communications. · Work closely with estimating, engineering, field operations, and executive leadership to ensure successful project execution. · Develop and maintain strong relationships with owners, engineers, general contractors, and industry partners. · Participate in project pursuit strategies, estimating, contract negotiations, and risk management. · Mentor and support Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers. · Represent Helical Drilling at industry organizations, networking events, conferences, and client meetings. · Present technical capabilities through lunch-and-learn presentations and other business development activities. · Ensure projects meet quality, safety, financial, and schedule objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS 7–10+ years of experience managing geotechnical construction projects and project teams. · Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects simultaneously from estimating through construction. · Proven business development experience with established relationships in the New England construction and engineering market. · Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, organizational, and problem-solving skills. · Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment with multiple priorities. · Willingness to attend industry events and participate in client presentations and business development activities. · Strong knowledge of specialty geotechnical systems, including: · Secant walls · Soil nailing · Tiebacks · Micropiles · Earth retention systems
EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering required. · Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering preferred. · Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
