About the Role Helical Drilling is looking for a hands-on, seasoned Project Manager to take ownership of specialty geotechnical construction projects across the New England region. This is not a consulting role — we're looking for someone with direct construction experience delivering excavation support work in the field. The right candidate will be able to hit the ground running, quickly take ownership of projects, and manage them with minimal ramp-up or training.
We are specifically seeking Project Manager-level candidates with substantial, hands-on experience in specialty geotechnical construction. We are not considering junior or lower-level candidates for this position at this time.
What You'll Do Manage all phases of specialty geotechnical construction projects, from estimating and business development through scheduling, execution, and closeout. · Lead estimating and bid preparation for excavation support and ground improvement scopes. · Support business development and sales efforts, building and maintaining relationships with clients, GCs, and owners in the New England market. · Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and resources to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery. · Oversee day-to-day project execution, coordinating field crews, subcontractors, and suppliers. · Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the life of the project, managing expectations and resolving issues as they arise. · Take full ownership of assigned projects with limited oversight, applying sound judgment developed through hands-on field and PM experience.
What We're Looking For Solid, direct project management experience in specialty geotechnical construction (not consulting), including one or more of: secant piles, sheet piles, soldier pile and lagging, soil nailing, tiebacks, grouting, underpinning, helical piles, and micro piles. Demonstrated experience owning the full project lifecycle: estimating, business development/sales, scheduling, execution, and client relationship management. · Based in the New England region with strong, established ties to the local market. · Ability to step into projects and take ownership quickly, without extensive training or ramp-up time. · Strong communication and client-facing skills, with a track record of building lasting relationships.
Qualifications PE (Professional Engineer) license. · Prior experience with another well-established specialty geotechnical contractor in the New England region.
