Job Description
This role supports welding, machining, and fabrication operations by keeping materials, equipment, and workflow moving efficiently throughout the shop. You will assist welders and machinists, handle materials, perform quality inspections on steel products, operate forklifts, load and unload trucks, and make local customer deliveries. This position is ideal for someone with a manufacturing background who enjoys hands-on work, values safety, and takes pride in producing high-quality fabricated products.
Responsibilities
- Assist welders and machinists with material preparation, equipment setup, and daily production activities to maintain steady workflow.
- Handle raw materials and finished products throughout the facility, ensuring items are stored, staged, and moved safely and efficiently.
- Load and unload steel, components, and fabricated assemblies from trucks using a forklift while following all safety procedures.
- Perform visual and dimensional quality inspections on steel parts and fabricated products to verify accuracy and workmanship.
- Confirm that materials and finished products meet customer specifications and internal quality standards before shipment.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on company vehicles and maintain compliance with applicable DOT requirements.
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation, logs, and material records to support traceability and inventory control.
- Support general shop operations, including cleanup, organization, and inventory management to keep the facility safe and efficient.
- Assist with cutting, grinding, deburring, and basic fabrication tasks as needed to support production schedules.
Essential Skills
- Previous forklift operation experience, including safe loading and unloading of materials.
- Approximately 2+ years of manufacturing, fabrication, welding, machining, or industrial experience preferred.
- Basic knowledge of welding and metal fabrication processes, including working around welders and related equipment.
- Ability to use tape measures, calipers, and other measuring equipment for dimensional checks.
- Strong understanding of shop safety practices and commitment to following safety procedures and PPE requirements.
- Valid driving capability with the ability to perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and follow DOT regulations for local deliveries.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to assist in multiple areas of the shop as needed.
- Comfort working in a hands-on, general labor and production environment, including material handling and basic fabrication tasks.

- Monday - Friday (6am - 3:30pm)
- Pay: $21 - $25 (Based on Experience)

Work Environment
This position is based in a weld shop environment where you will be exposed to loud noise levels and varying temperatures, including both hot and cold conditions. The role operates on a first shift schedule, Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., supporting a consistent daytime work routine. You will regularly work around welding, machining, and fabrication equipment, including forklifts and material handling tools. Steel-toe footwear is required, and you must provide your own basic hand tools and personal welding hood. The shop maintains a strict no-cellphone-on-the-floor policy to protect proprietary information; phones and photography are not permitted on the production floor during business hours, and you will be asked to acknowledge this policy during orientation. The environment emphasizes safety, organization, and teamwork to ensure efficient production and high-quality output.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
