The Role
This is a senior-level opportunity for an experienced geotechnical engineer to take on a key role supporting both Geotechnical Engineering and Construction Materials Testing (CMT) services.You will work across a diverse range of infrastructure and land development projects, contributing both technically and strategically. Depending on experience, the position may be structured at a Managing Principal level.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadgeotechnical engineering services, including:
- Preparation of geotechnical reports and technical calculations
- Oversight and support of field and laboratory operations
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to staff engineers and field personnel
- Review construction inspection reports and quality control documentation
- Conduct site visits and provide technical input on active projects
- Support collaboration between geotechnical and CMT teams
- Contribute to project delivery across multiple concurrent assignments
- Participate in mentoring and development of junior staff
Requirements
- Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, or related ABET-accredited discipline
- 12+ years of progressive experience in geotechnical consulting
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in New Jersey (or ability to obtain within 3 months)
- Based in Northern New Jersey or willing to relocate
- Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop junior team members
Preferred Experience
- Prior experience working in the Northern New Jersey market with established industry relationships
- Familiarity withgeotechnical software such as:
- TABLOGS / TABLABS, L-Pile, SLIDE, Settle3D, MSEW
- Strong business development and client-facing experience
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Experience reviewing and approving technical reports prepared by junior engineers
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
