About the Role
I am seeking an experienced Senior Restoration Engineer to lead and manage a team of architects and engineers on a diverse portfolio of restoration and historic preservation projects. This position offers the opportunity to work on projects of varying scale from affordable housing to luxury high-rises, landmark structures, and iconic architecture through all phases, from planning to construction administration.You will play a key role in project delivery, team development, and client engagement, ensuring technical excellence and compliance with local regulations.About the CompanyThis is a leading engineering and design firm specializing in building restoration and historic preservation.   • Manage multiple large-scale restoration projects and oversee team organization and planning.
  • Lead façade, roof, plaza, and garage repair projects.
  • Conduct building envelope inspections and develop restoration designs.
  • Perform Local Law 11/FISP reporting, including site inspections, condition documentation, and DOB submissions.
  • Carry out building inspections from ground level, rooftops, lifts, and supported/suspended scaffolding.
  • Design structural solutions for restoration and renovation projects.
  • Perform structural analysis using RAM, STAAD, and/or RISA.
  • Prepare detailed plans, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Support business development and maintain client relationships.
  • Estimate scope, timelines, and staffing for proposals.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum 7 years in structural or restoration engineering; at least 5 years of Local Law 11/FISP experience.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple major projects, including landmark restorations.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software (RAM, STAAD, RISA).
  • Strong knowledge of AutoCAD and Excel.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and excellent written/verbal communication skills.
  • Prior experience with New York City projects is essential.

Salary range - $105,000-$170,000 (depedning on experience, background, technical ability, licensure)
