B&L specializes in transportation engineering, water supply, wastewater management, solid waste management, land planning and site design, environmental services, facilities engineering, land surveying and asset management. We are seeking a Crew Chief to join our Land Surveying Practice based in our Glastonbury, CT office. Duties will include:
- Supervise the survey crew’s activities and use of equipment. Makes timely requests for equipment and other survey needs.
- Coordinate with the field staff and office staff on project needs.
- Provide design direction and guidance to technicians.
- Assist Instrument Operators and Survey Technicians with tasks and responsibilities
- Provide field and construction observation support, as necessary.
- Provide CAD, GIS, or other computer software support and analysis.
- Collect and record electronic and written field notes.
- Perform supporting calculations and provides the necessary research and supporting documentation to support the calculations.
- Assist with the preparation of reports, studies and other documentation.
- Assist with preparation of plans and specifications.
