Description
GAI Consultants, Inc. is seeking an Assistant CAD Operator 2. This position will be based out of York, PA region. The ideal candidate has good analytical thinking, problem-solving techniques, computer-aided drafting (CAD) experience, and excellent communication skills. This position reports out of our Distribution group. Essential Job Duties:- Design and permit distribution lines, including drawing preparation, bill of materials development, material ordering, and conducting field visits.
- Ability to conduct field visits and use information to create drawings.
- Utilize various software to create overhead and underground electrical distribution designs.
- Follow local utility and construction standards.
- Ability to learn, retain and apply on the job training and use design software packages efficiently.
- Ability to work effectively in design teams.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize work.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be flexible to handle shifting deadlines and scope changes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a team setting.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Up to 30% for Field Work
- At least 2 Years of Experience in Construction and/or CADD
- Understanding of AutoCAD, MicroStation, and/or related drafting software.
- General construction knowledge and aptitude.
- Must be detail-oriented and maintain professionalism. We provide a “Client First” approach to all interactions.
- Accountable for deliverables as assigned.
- Able to take and follow verbal instruction.
- Demonstrates intermediate to advanced knowledge of CAD skills. Focuses on quality.
- Accountable for time management.
- 2+ Years of Experience
- Associate Degree from an accredited Technical School
- Ability to utilize software to complete a design package.
- Ability to organize data. General understanding of drawing package procedures.
- Responsible for personal task management and adherence to deadlines and scope
- No Management responsibilities.
- Close supervision for difficult projects
- Possess good oral and written communication skills. interacts effectively with other staff
