What You'll DoWe are seeking a motivated Entry-Level Civil Engineer to join our Land Development team. This role is ideal for recent graduates or early-career engineers who want hands-on experience in site design, stormwater management, utility layout, permitting, and construction support. You will work closely with senior engineers and project managers to develop practical design skills and contribute to projects from concept through construction. Exposure to a wide variety of responsibilities may include but not be limited to:

  • Assist with the design of site layouts, grading plans, roadway alignments, and utility systems
  • Perform engineering calculations, including hydrology, hydraulics, stormwater modeling, and erosion & sediment control
  • Prepare technical drawings, reports, and permitting documents
  • Conduct site visits, field investigations, and construction observation as needed
  • Collaborate with project teams, clients, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders
  • Ensure designs comply with Pennsylvania state and local regulations, including PA DEP and municipal ordinances

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Engineering Technology
  • EIT candidates are preferred, active EIT a plus
  • 0-3 years of work-related experience
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar design software (coursework or internship experience acceptable)
  • Displayed competency with hydraulic modeling software such as HydroCAD, HydraFlow and HEC-RAS
  • Familiarity with land development concepts and Pennsylvania regulatory requirements (preferred but not required)
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and have a clean driving record

Physical DemandsWork is performed both in the office and in the field, which may include all weather conditions, construction sites and/or difficult terrain, and extensive standing and walking.  In the field, the employee will regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds; occasionally move 80 pounds or more (such as a loaded wheelbarrow of concrete or soil samples).  Overall, work may routinely require the employee to sit, stand, walk, climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl. The employee is regularly required to talk and hear and frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Must have the ability to see and smell; including close, distance and peripheral vision, depth vision and ability to focus.
