This career position provides an opportunity to join a fast-paced team that provides solutions on environmental remediation projects. The work entails a combination of field and office-related activities, with a need to carefully follow instructions, document activities, work as part of a team and requires problem solving and proactive communication. Your Impact
- Validate environmental analytical data in accordance with USEPA, regional, and state-specific validation guidelines to ensure data quality objectives are met.
- Prepare data validation narratives and data usability reports.
- Coordinate environmental laboratory services and field sampling events.
- Work with laboratories to ensure data meets client requirements and project data quality objectives.
- Manage and report environmental analytical data and geo-environmental data through multiple software platforms.
- Under general supervision, collect and compile chemical and environmental data from samples of air, soil, water, sludge, and other matrices for scientific analysis of chemical contamination.
- Maintain quality control standards and procedures for accurate and precise measurements.
- Generate complete, accurate, and concise documentation using electronic systems and field/work site notebook.
- Safetly perform work in the office and field; fieldwork may occur in all seasonal weather conditions, using equipment (with an ability to left and move approximately 50 pounds without assistance) and operating vehicles on behalf of the company.
- Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
Who You AreRequired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Geology, or closely related discipline.
- 0-1 years of relevant experience.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (e.g., Outlook, Work) with advanced-level Excel.
- Proficient self-leadership with attention to detail, multi-tasking, and prioritization of responsibilities in a dynamic work environment.
- Ability to work independently under general supervision, as well as part of a team to meet business objectives.
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
- Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
- Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or closely related discipline.
- Prior experience including internships strongly desired.
- A member of and/or actively participate in local professional practice organizations.
- Experience writing analytical SOPs, QAPPs, FSPs and other quality management documents.
- Basic knowledge of USEPA analytical methods, including experience in operation of laboratory instrumentation and associated data systems.
- Experience with EQuISTM Professional.
- 40-Hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER) (29 CFR 1910.120).
- Basic First Aid and Adult CPR training.

Compensation:Expected Salary: $50,400 - $75,600WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
