Responsibilities include:
- Lead technical staff responsible for preparing environmental documents and permit applications
- Supervise environmental subconsultants and perform QA reviews of their technical studies on cultural resources, air, noise, wetlands, socio-economics, ecological and hazardous waste impacts
- Provide technical assistance to project managers and engineers to ensure projects comply with environmental rules and regulations including NEPA
- Communicate with counterparts in client organizations and regulatory agencies
- Present environmental aspects of projects to the public at hearings and information centers
- Assist project managers by preparing technical write-ups and presentations, writing scopes of work, and preparing budgets and schedules
- Manage budgets and schedules for environmental scopes of work
- Work with management to develop and expand firm’s environmental services
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Environmental Science, Planning, Civil Engineering or related field
- 15+ years of progressive experience preparing environmental documents such as NEPA EISs, EAs and CEDs, and environmental permit applications for transportation projects in NJ, NY or PA including presenting projects to the public at hearings and public information centers
- 10 years of experience supervising technical staff responsible for preparing environmental documents and permit applications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a design team
The following Experience is a Plus:
- Masters Degree/PHD in Environmental Science, Planning, Civil Engineering or related field
- 10+ years with NJDOT, NYSDOT, and or other agency project experience
