Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform and/or review geotechnical analyses such as slope stability, settlement, embankment seepage, bearing capacity and seismic evaluations associated with transportation projects, permanent and temporary shoring, dam embankments and other structures/buildings,
  • Perform and/or review hydrologic, hydraulic, and structural analyses associated with dams, spillways, and transportation structures.
  • Prepare and/or review design drawings, reports, and technical specifications
  • Perform inspections of transportation structures, foundation shoring, dams, and hydraulic structures
  • Provide periodic construction observation and consultation
  • Perform task and project-level management and coordination duties
  • Mentor junior-level engineering staff

Required Skills/Experience:

  • Strong work ethic and desire to perform professionally at a high level
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or Geology from an ABET-accredited university
  • Professional Engineering license to practice engineering or ability to seek reciprocity upon employment
  • Project management experience 
  • Relevant work experience of at least five (5) years in geotechnical engineering
  • High proficiency with AutoCAD
  • Willingness and ability to perform field work and travel
  • Experience with developing, performing, and managing complex field exploration programs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in Civil or Geological Engineering
  • High proficiency with GeoStudio and AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Licensure as a Professional Engineer
  • Knowledge/experience with dams and levees, seismic design, FERC regulated projects

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to pass a pre-employment screening
  • Ability to pass a background check which may include criminal history, motor vehicle record and credit check
