Job Description
Assistant Engineer
Start your engineering career at a Best Places to Work company. Wood Rodgers is hiring a civil engineer to join our Land Development Division located in Pleasanton, CA. We are looking for E.I.T certified people, or the ability to get within 6 months, to prepare engineering studies for grading, sanitary sewer, drainage and water systems, preparation of construction plans, and cost estimates for infrastructure improvements including roads, sewer and water systems, grading, and drainage facilities for a variety of private projects. Project assignments may include entitlement/tentative maps and subdivisions and site developments and infrastructure planning. Duties require ability to perform engineering analyses and prepare related reports such as hydraulic analyses, alternatives analyses and development of designs using Computer Aided Design (AutoCAD) applications. - Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure project objectives are met efficiently and effectively.
- Conduct preliminary studies and site investigations to gather data for project planning and design.
- Assist in the preparation of design calculations, drawings, and specifications using CAD software.
- Perform technical analyses and simulations to evaluate the feasibility and performance of engineering solutions.
- Prepare technical reports, and other project documentation as required.
- And of course, “other duties as assigned.”
The Ante
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
- 0 to 3 years of experience performing the essential duties listed above.
- Knowledge of civil engineering principles, practices, and methods.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, Civil3D is preferred
- Skilled in the use of computers for Microsoft Office Suite.
