Job Description

That’s how we make a difference to our clients, people, and the planet.We currently have opportunities in California and Florida for a Recycled Water Technical Manager interested in developing innovative solutions to challenging water-related projects and managing successful project teams. Our growing backlog of recycled water work creates an opportunity to be involved in a variety of tasks that contribute to the development of solutions in California and Florida, where much of the groundbreaking work on recycled water is happening. The successful candidate will be a motivated, growth-oriented professional with the ability to lead multi-discipline project teams from the concept, planning, final design, construction, start-up, and operations phases of facilities. You will have staff to mentor and clients to build relationships with. Not only will you have engineers to support you, but our integrated environmental planning, permitting, funding, operations and SCADA teams will help you deliver a better product. And you will be an active participant in our delivery system improvement programs.

What will you need to succeed?

  • The selected candidate will primarily provide engineering support on municipal recycled water projects, however experience with drinking water, storm water, groundwater, and wastewater applications are valuable. This position will provide an opportunity to direct and collaborate with a team of junior staff. The ideal candidate is a Technical Manager with strong experience in research, planning, and design of recycled water systems – both non-potable and potable. Familiarity with a broad range of issues related to master planning, tertiary/advanced treatment, and distribution in recycled water systems. The successful candidate will lead the technical delivery of multiple projects and must also be able to support marketing and proposal efforts, as appropriate. Experience with local regulators (California and/or Florida) is highly desirable.
  • Essential Duties

  • Acts as the technical lead for all sizes of projects, including having interaction related to all technical tasks and client-facing interactions associated with the project.
  • Supports Project Manager with and/or directly manages the financial and technical delivery of project tasks, including scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Determines technical approach for specific tasks.
  • Prepares and delivers presentations to internal and/or external clients/professional societies
  • Provides input on the development of Woodard & Curran design or technical guidelines and standards.
  • What You Will Need To Succeed:

  • 4-8 years of engineering experience.
  • B.S. Degree in Civil or Environmental or Chemical Engineering.
  • Registered Professional Engineer is a plus.
  • In addition, this position will require experience in the following supervisory and project engineering duties:

  • Coordinating the work of engineers and developing and monitoring phase schedules and budgets components of larger projects
  • Experience leading the design or portions of the design
  • Experience in Construction Administration, including coordinating submittal review
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD software
  • Making decisions independently on engineering problems and methods.
  • Mentoring and directing staff on technical assignments and reviewing technical work completed by engineers under supervision.
  • Interacting with clients, and professionally representing the firm.

Geographic differentials are used to recognize and reflect cost of labor differences between geographic markets.Salary Range: $115,000 - $181,000
