Job Description

THE ROLE: The Civil Engineer will complete complex engineering projects across multiple disciplines, working closely with land development leaders to provide engineering solutions in all aspects involving both residential and commercial land and site development projects, grading projects, roadways, pedestrian systems, water and sanitary sewer systems, and storm water management.CIVIL ENGINEER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage small to mid-size projects, client and contractor agreements and budgets
  • Write and prepare technical engineering reports, plans and specifications for projects
  • Consult with clients to plan and develop strategies for their civil engineering design and support needs
  • Analyze reports, maps, drawings, and tests to plan and design projects
  • Evaluate designs to determine project feasibility, estimate quantities and cost of materials, equipment, and labor requirements
  • Assist with construction inspection of project sites to monitor progress and ensure design specifications are met
  • Engineering design for site-civil infrastructure elements
  • Mentor less experienced engineers as needed
  • Use of independent judgment is expected

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

  • You currently have a PE Certification and a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or similar field.
  • You are building on 5+ years of successful design and consulting experience within Civil Engineering.
  • You have strong technical skills and experience using Autodesk Civil 3D, XP-SWMM, WaterCAD, SewerCAD, StormCAD and other related programs.
  • You are a self-starter and work well independently.
  • You have successfully worked in teams and have outstanding listening and communication skills.
  • You advocate proactively for Civil Engineering field and enjoy sharing knowledge, giving presentations, and encouraging students to explore it as a career.

A BIT MORE INFORMATIONLocationThis position is based in our Minot, ND office; however, occasional travel to other locations and business conferences may be required on an occasional basis.
Salary & Benefit InformationThis is a full-time exempt position with a pay range is $77,000-$88,000 annually, depending on experience, plus a competitive benefits package.Benefits Provided by Ackerman-Estvold Include:
