DescriptionBarton & Loguidice, D.P.C., a growing multi-disciplined engineering firm, is seeking a resourceful, self-motivated and experienced Structural Engineer with the ability to provide high-level engineering services for a broad range of clientele. Applications for this position are primarily sought for Annapolis, MD; Baltimore, MD and Hartford, CT, but are also being accepted for B&L’s other office locations in New York and Pennsylvania. The position offers excellent career growth and advancement potential for the selected individual.RequirementsThe ideal candidate will have a B.S. in Civil or Architectural Engineering with a minimum of 10+ years of diverse consulting engineering experience on municipal, commercial, private, and/or industrial facilities projects. Candidates should possess acute analytical skills, the capability to design and manage small to large projects, and a comprehensive technical background across all facets of structural engineering related to building and building associated systems.
Specific areas of expertise could include:
- Client engagement and interaction;
- Proposal and fee development;
- Project site investigations;
- Structural analysis and design, including delegation to junior engineers and review of their work;
- Preparation and review of design reports, engineering drawings and specifications; and
- Verification of construction projects for compliance with plans and specifications
Excellent communication and writing skills are essential to accomplish synergistic interaction with both technical clients and co-worker/staff. Software capabilities must include Microsoft Office platform, AutoCAD and/or Revit. Technical capabilities must include a strong working knowledge in industry standards such as ACI and AISC as well as State building codes. Additionally, a broad familiarity with the work of other project team members, including architects and electrical, mechanical and civil engineers is desired to allow for effective, integrated and well-coordinated project design solutions. Desired soft skills include interfacing with internal and external clients, mentoring younger staff, and assistance with proposal development.
This position will offer the successful candidate the opportunity to develop and manage dynamic, challenging projects that incorporate innovative and unique goals and objectives. Additional industry certifications, including LEED AP, are considered a plus. Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) in MD (or eligibility to obtain) is desired.
Estimated Pay Range: $100,000 - $155,000/year.Actual compensation may vary based on related work experience, geographical location and market conditions, education/training, certifications, and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills.
