Labella Associates, D.P.C. has an immediate need for a Project Manager in our Environmental division at our Brooklyn, NY office.Labella’s passionate professionals include engineers, scientists, planners, and designers who partner with public and private clients in the real estate, institutional, transportation, and energy industries, as well as federal, state, and local governments.Together, we work to improve economic vitality, enhance communities, increase mobility, and balance development and infrastructure needs with environmental stewardship.We are seeking an environmental entrepreneur who will assist the NYC Regional Manager in continuing to grow Labella’s multi-disciplinary office located in DUMBO, Brooklyn, NY. We are looking for an individual with experience performing Phase I/II ESAs, familiarity with OER e-Designation process, and performing investigation and remediation within the NYS BCP with the potential to become a seller-doer.The Project Manager will manage existing clients and projects, network, market, and cross-sell, assist with recruitment, and help train and mentor junior staff.   • Managing environmental due diligence and Investigation and Remediation (I&R) projects, including NYS Brownfield and E-designation sites and provide leadership and client coordination.
  • Preparing work plans and proposals and managing projects in consideration of environmental goals, timelines, resource allocation, and budgetary requirements.
  • Providing oversight, direction, management, and mentoring to environmental staff and supporting recruiting efforts.
  • Managing key stakeholder relationships including clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Establishing and tracking project milestones as well as quarterly business goals.
  • Overseeing and managing various environmental projects to ensure their successful planning, implementation, and completion.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including environmental specialists, engineers, contractors, and government agencies, to achieve project objectives.
  • Collecting and analyzing environmental data, preparing reports, and communicating project progress, outcomes, and recommendations to stakeholders and regulatory authorities.
  • Maintaining accurate project documentation, including environmental assessments, permits, reports, and correspondence, and ensuring compliance with record-keeping requirements.

Requirements

  • BS degree in environmental science, geology, civil engineering, or related field; MS preferred.
  • 5 – 10 years of professional environmental consulting experience.
  • Possess excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must be team oriented with strong capability to motivate others.
  • Must be a highly motivated self-starter.
  • Must demonstrate superior ability in collaborative problem solving with stakeholders, clients, and teammates.
  • Possess technical knowledge and experience with NYC E-designations, and brownfield sites within various programs, including the New York City Voluntary Cleanup Program (VCP) and New York State Brownfield Cleanup Program (BCP) as well as Superfund (CERCLA).
  • Experience with in situ remediation and engineering controls related to groundwater, soil and soil vapor contamination.
  • Experience in successfully managing interdisciplinary projects.
  • Experience with teaming efforts related to RFPs and RFQs.
  • Additional state certifications such as New York Professional Geologist (PG) a plus.
  • Experience in managing other staff members.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • New York State Professional Geologist (PG) or Professional Engineer (PE) preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Physical ability to perform outdoor field work.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

Salary Range: $75,000 - $98,000
The specific salary offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location.
