2024 Summer Internship ProgramTaylor Engineering, Inc. is hosting a summer internship program for 2024 based out of our Jacksonville, FL office. Interns will gain practical experience by observing and participating in day-to-day conduct of projects related to field of interest. Taylor Engineering will provide interns opportunities for application and development of professional methods and skills through actual practice. Emphasis is placed on developing competence in basic professional methods such as analysis, financial responsibility, planning, record keeping, promotion, programming, public speaking, and team building/work. Interns will also gain insight to the entire life-cycle of a project and see firsthand how Taylor Engineering operates as a business. All intern positions are paid.Internship Positions AvailableCoastal Engineering InternThe coastal engineering intern will potentially work on one or more of the following tasks: general coastal work, monitoring reports, numerical modeling, or contract administration.The intern applicant must be completing his/her master’s degree or Ph.D.Full-time availability preferred Coastal Strategies InternThe coastal strategies intern will potentially work on one or more of the following tasks: general coastal or riverine flood risk analyses, sea level and vulnerability assessments, and other engineering analyses. The intern applicant must be in a suitable engineering or scientific academic program.Full-time availability preferred Dredging & Navigation InternThe dredging & navigation intern will have the opportunity to work side by side with both engineers and geologists on a variety of dredging related projects. You will potentially assist in our geoscience laboratory, field-based construction administration, and office-based infrastructure planning and analyses.The intern applicant must be completing his/her bachelor’s degree or master’s degree.Part-time availability or full-time availability Environmental Services InternThe environmental services intern will work both in the office and in the field to help complete tasks related to environmental permitting, natural resource investigations, environmental sampling, construction observation, and/or GIS (no experience necessary).The intern applicant must be completing his/her bachelor’s degree or master’s degree.Part-time availability or full-time availability Waterfront Engineering InternThe waterfront engineering intern will assist in engineering work involving waterfront structures, dredging and navigation, environmental permitting, and construction administration.The intern applicant must be completing his/her bachelor’s degree.Part-time availability or full-time availability Water Resources Engineering InternThe water resources intern in water resources will undertake projects in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and flood risk analysis. It's a chance to contribute to meaningful work while developing your skills. You will collaborate on diverse water resources engineering projects, integrating with various engineering disciplines. Engage in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling. Assist in analyzing and developing strategies for flood risk mitigation. Apply your analytical skills to resilience planning.
