As a Civil Engineer in Kennesaw, GA, working within the utility and federal client sectors, you will be heavily involved in Geosyntec’s continued project work related to the coal combustion residuals (CCR) and Dams and Levees market. In collaboration with top professionals in their field, the candidate will work on complex projects involving innovative civil design with unique water management and geotechnical challenges, but also will take a leading role in project and program management tasks for various civil design projects. Most tasks will be within the markets listed above, but the individual may also perform tasks in other company practice areas (mining, geo-environmental, groundwater, and sediments), as needed.Our clients ask us to address their new ventures and most challenging problems involving the environment, natural resources, and civil infrastructure. - Developing and/or reviewing technical drawings, specifications, engineering documents, and analyses for: civil design; site development and grading; stormwater management; and erosion and sediment controls
- Providing oversight and management of multi-disciplinary projects and assistance in managing Client Programs.
- Experience in dams engineering, landfill engineering, and/or construction quality assurance/quality control is a plus.
- Coordinating work efforts and reviewing work performed by other team members.
- Developing and maintaining strong collaborative internal (i.e., within Geosyntec) and external (i.e., clients and subcontractors) relationships.
- Recruiting, training, and mentoring early-career engineers and scientists.
- Preparing task orders and proposals including scope of work, cost/fee estimates, schedule, presentations, etc.
- Serving as point-of-contact with clients and other project consultants.
- Consistent with our sell-manage-do business model, play a role supporting lead generation, business development, staff development, and mentoring; and
- Help broaden our reputation via publishing and visibility at prominent industry conferences.

- Training: This position requires OSHA health and safety, boater certification, defensive driving certification, first aid, and CPR training and medical monitoring, paid for by the firm. - Fieldwork: Up to 5%
- Overnight travel: Up to 10%

- Bachelor's degree in environmental or civil engineering or closely related discipline. (required)
- Advanced degree in environmental or civil engineering. (preferred)
- Professional registration or ability to obtain it soon after hire (i.e., P.E.). (required)
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- At least 7 years of progressive experience in consulting industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
- Experience performing civil design and site grading. (required)
- Experience in task and project management. (required)
- Strong oral and technical writing skills. (required)
- Experience with relevant engineering software. (e.g., AutoCAD Civil3D, HydroCAD, SWMM, and ArcGIS. (preferred)
- Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
