With specialized expertise and experience on a variety of projects spanning the globe, our team of professionals has the diverse skills necessary to achieve your goals.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESIs this the right position to help you achieve your professional goals? Some of the key responsibilities for the position include:

  • Conduct coastal studies and analysis;
  • Coastal numerical modeling;
  • Preparation of documents and exhibits in support of state and federal coastal project permitting;
  • Assist with flood risk reduction, coastal restoration, and shore protection projects;
  • Construction oversight and engineering support;
  • Site visits/field investigations; and
  • Preparation of technical drawings, specifications, engineering documents, and analyses for: coastal site evaluation and modeling; beach nourishment; shoreline stabilization and coastal structures; and coastal and environmental protection initiatives.

  • Training: This position requires OSHA health and safety, boater certification, defensive driving certification, first aid, and CPR training and medical monitoring, paid for by the firm. We also offer professional development opportunities including in-house seminars, webinars, and mentoring, that allow our professionals to build the technical and business skills necessary to become successful consultants.
  • Fieldwork: may be required periodically.
  • Overnight travel: as projects require.

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental or civil engineering, with emphasis on coastal or water resources. (required)
  • Advanced degree in coastal engineering or closely related field. (preferred)
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification. (preferred)

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior internship or work experience in engineering consulting. (preferred) 
  • Experience in relevant coastal engineering software. (e.g., AutoCAD Civil3D, Matlab etc.). (required)
  • Prior internship experience in environmental, civil or coastal consulting. (preferred)
  • Experience performing coastal studies and analyses. (valuable)
  • Exceptional social skills and outstanding oral and written communication skills. (required)
  • Ability and willingness to perform fieldwork and travel. (required)
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
