Freeman Companies, an award-winning multi-discipline landscape architecture and engineering firm based in Hartford, CT, has an immediate opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to join our growing landscape architecture studio. Freeman Companies is a growing, Black American owned small business, driven by our promise to clients and owners to Elevate Your Expectations.Job Description: The successful candidate will work in conjunction with other multi-disciplinary design team members in applying creative design principles and technical standards to elevate projects. Projects range from schools, commercial, corporate, transit-oriented development, urban streetscapes, mixed use development, residential communities, municipal parks and playgrounds to athletic facilities. The ideal candidate would have the following attributes self-starters with strong design, graphic, ability to assemble SD, DD & CD level or city submittal packages, strong written and communication skills and a positive attitude with attention to detail. Applicants should have proficiency with Auto CAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch-Up, and Microsoft Office. Familiarity with Revit and GIS will be a plus.Responsibilities:
- Apply diversified knowledge of planning and landscape architecture principles and practices.
- Production of design graphics, using AutoCAD Civil 3D, for construction documents.
- Collaborate with internal and external clients on the site design packages for projects.
- Communicate with project multi-discipline team members, client representatives, review agencies and others.
- Coordinate the preparation of project drawings, exhibits, and calculations with other engineers, designers and technicians.
- Prepare project related correspondence as appropriate.
- Manage time effectively, organize, and work on multiple projects simultaneously to meet project deadlines and client needs.
- Visit project sites to review conditions.
- Act as a design leader and mentor for the Landscape Architecture Team.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited program with 10 - 15 years of experience.
- Landscape Architecture license or ability to become licensed within a short time.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, as well as skills in hand graphics and renderings.
- Proven track record of success with project and people management.
- Excellent organization and time management skills.
- High level skills in site planning, planting design, layout, construction detailing, and construction administration.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and handle multiple deadlines while maintaining a high degree of accuracy in all work.
- Must have the ability to interact positively with others, solve complex problems, and communicate solutions to others constructively.
- Experience with managing and maintaining positive client relationships.
