Job Description

Duffield Associates is looking for Field Services Technician staff to perform review of construction projects and materials testing.Duffield Associates, Inc. is an award-winning engineering and science consulting firm specializing in civil, environmental, and geotechnical engineering, construction consulting and testing services.  FIELD SERVICES TECHNICIAN: POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform quality control review and testing for construction projects.
  • Review activities on active construction sites.
  • Field observation, testing and sampling of soils, concrete, masonry and steel construction.
  • Write field reports documenting work performed confirming compliance status with contract documents.
  • Recordkeeping and maintenance of testing equipment.
  • Additional tasks may include laboratory testing of soils and concrete.

 REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years construction experience in the review and testing of soils, masonry, concrete and/or asphalt.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Travel may be required.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and directions.
  • Possess the physical strength and stamina to repeatedly lift and move up to 50 pounds as well as climb, bend, and stoop for extended periods and in varying weather conditions.
  • Good communication and follow-up skills.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft office applications.

 PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree
  • Troxler Nuclear Density Gauge Certification
  • ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician Certification
  • ICC Special Inspector Certification (concrete, masonry and steel)
  • State of NJ Department of Community Affairs Uniform Construction Code Certification (DCA)
  • NICET (Soils, Asphalt or Concrete)
  • Asphalt Paving/Plant Technologist Certification
  • AWS Certified Weld Inspector
  • OSHA 40 Hour Certification
