Early Career Structural Engineer
About the Opportunity
A growing structural engineering consultancy is seeking an Early Career Structural Engineer to join its team in the New York City area. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of new construction and existing building projects across the United States while collaborating with experienced engineers and industry professionals.The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

Successful candidates will receive hands-on training in structural design, industry software, and project delivery while working alongside multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the structural design of new buildings and rehabilitation/restoration of existing structures.
- Perform structural analysis and design for steel, concrete, masonry, timber, and foundation systems.
- Utilize industry-standard design software and digital tools.
- Support project teams in delivering high-quality engineering solutions.
- Participate in technical training and professional development activities.
- Adhere to company standards, safety requirements, and ethical practices.
- Take on additional responsibilities as project and business needs evolve.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 0-4 years of professional experience (internship experience acceptable).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with structural design concepts and engineering principles.
- Understanding of relevant building codes and construction practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) software such as Revit.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and professional work environment.
- Ability to accommodate occasional travel and project-specific schedules when required.
Preferred
- Recent or upcoming graduate in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering.
- Master's degree in Structural Engineering.
- Internship or co-op experience within a structural engineering environment.
- Experience using Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, or similar engineering software.
