The Role
We are seeking a Junior Structural Engineer to support the design and delivery of building structures from concept through construction. You'll take ownership of structural design packages, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, support construction activities, and mentor junior engineers while working on a variety of commercial building projects.
Responsibilities
- Design structural systems for a range of building projects.
- Prepare structural calculations, load analyses, and design reports.
- Use software such as RAM Structural System, RAM Elements, and Enercalc.
- Produce and review construction drawings, details, and specifications.
- Coordinate designs with architectural and MEP disciplines.
- Lead structural design on smaller projects.
- Review RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings during construction.
- Carry out site visits and prepare field reports.
- Maintain quality control standards and meet project deadlines.
- Support and mentor junior engineers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Minimum 3 years' experience within a structural or architectural engineering consultancy.
- Strong knowledge of structural design principles and building codes.
- Proficiency in Revit/BIM.
- Experience with structural analysis and design software.
- Strong communication and project coordination skills.
- PE licence or progress towards professional registration preferred.
