Key Responsibilities
- Lead geotechnical engineering projects from proposal development through final delivery
- Perform and oversee geotechnical design and analysis for bridges, dams, levees, buildings, and other civil infrastructure projects
- Plan and manage subsurface exploration programs, drilling operations, and field investigations
- Prepare and review geotechnical reports, technical specifications, engineering calculations, and recommendations
- Evaluate foundation systems, retaining structures, slope stability, earthworks, and ground improvement solutions
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary project teams throughout project execution
- Provide construction-phase engineering support and respond to field conditions as required
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and technical deliverables
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to project teams
- Support business development activities, proposal preparation, and client relationship management
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, or a related discipline
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- 10+ years of geotechnical engineering experience
- Strong experience delivering transportation, bridge, dam, levee, or major infrastructure projects
- Proficiency in geotechnical investigations, foundation design, and geotechnical analysis
- Demonstrated project management and client-facing experience
- Strong leadership, communication, and team collaboration skills
- Ability to travel periodically throughout the Midwest as project requirements dictate
