Overview
AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Structural Engineer to join our Bridge and Civil Design Team. This is an entry‑level position and is based out of Houston, TX.
Your role
- Assist in the planning, design, and production of bridge and civil engineering drawings, calculations, and technical reports.
- Support project teams with data collection, analysis, and preparation of design documents, cost estimates, and specifications.
- Participate in field observations and construction support activities, including shop drawing reviews, progress documentation, and quality control tasks.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to evaluate design alternatives, develop innovative solutions, and ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.
About you
- EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET‑accredited university.
- EXPERIENCE: 0–2 years of professional experience in structural or civil engineering (internship or co‑op experience preferred).
- SPECIAL SKILLS:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with AutoCAD or MicroStation (preferred).
- Strong problem‑solving and teamwork abilities.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to perform engineering calculations and support preparation of technical reports.
- PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATIONS: Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification required.
