Job Description
DescriptionBurns & McDonnell India is looking for a Fabrication Design Engineer interested in growing their careers in an organization listed among top 100 Great Places to work in India. The “Global Facilities” (GFS) business unit handles engineering of facilities in the North America region which includes food & beverage facilities, consumer product facilities, aerospace facilities, life sciences facilities, hyper scale data centers, commercial facilities, healthcare facilities and utility plants. The Mumbai office has a full complement of professionals with expertise in architecture, civil, electrical, control & automation, fire protection, mechanical, structural engineering, and project management.This position is responsible for providing a full range of Fabrication support services on various facility projects. The successful candidate will report to the Structural Department manager and will assist in building the structural team to support the growth in a particular business lane.·Key Responsibilities:
- 3D Modeling and 2D drafting of steel fabrication projects using tools like TEKLA and AutoCAD to produce deliverables format like –
- Fabrication steel shop drawings
- Generating Fabrication Tekla Steel 3D model
- Generating RFI’s on the project
- Extracting Bill of Material and other reports related to fabrication.
- Responsible for coordinating assigned scope of work with other disciplines to generate a clash free design.
- Willing to advance in career by taking increased engineering design responsibilities by closely working with discipline lead engineer.
- A committed team player able to work on own initiative.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good Communication skills (verbal & written) and ability to self-check and produce accurate work.
Qualifications
- Diploma/Degree in Civil Engineering or ITI Civil Draftsman.
- Minimum 6 to 8 years of experience in creating fabrication 3D model and extracting fabrication 2D drawings from the model.
- Diagrammatic skills, 3D conceptual skills
- Good knowledge on project setup in Tekla like templates, material, connections setup, Shop drawings extractions as per fabricators requirements.
- Working knowledge of international codes and standards (AISC, ACI, PIP etc.) used in Food and Consumer Industry, Manufacturing, Industrial and Commercial projects.
- Knowledge of power fab and Tekla Trimble connect is must.
- Coordinate with the fabricator and provide resolution to the queries.
- Guide and lead the fabrication team.
