Building Enclosure Consultant / Project Manager

Location: San Antonio, TexasAn established and growing building science consulting firm is seeking a Building Enclosure Consultant / Project Manager to join its team in San Antonio. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically driven professional to develop expertise across building envelope consulting, testing, and forensic investigations, while taking ownership of projects and client relationships.

The Role

The successful candidate will work across a diverse portfolio of new construction and existing buildings, supporting both technical delivery and project management. This role offers exposure to design consulting, field testing, and forensic work, with opportunities to contribute to business growth and client development.Travel up to 25% may be required depending on project needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide building enclosure consulting on new construction projects, including peer reviews of plans and specifications
  • Review architectural drawings, shop drawings, and submittals related to the building envelope
  • Conduct field performance testing, including water and air infiltration testing
  • Support construction phase services, including site visits and shop drawing review
  • Perform forensic investigations of existing buildings and document findings
  • Contribute to remediation design for building enclosure systems
  • Collaborate with senior staff on complex technical projects
  • Prepare clear, professional technical reports
  • Develop sketches and markups using tools such as Bluebeam

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or related field with at least 1 year of experience in building enclosure consulting
    OR
    • Minimum 5 years of relevant industry experience in lieu of a degree
  • Strong understanding of building envelope systems and construction practices
  • Experience managing projects of varying size and complexity
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Comfortable performing both office-based and field-based work, including working at height
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional registration (e.g., PE, RA, RRC, etc.)
  • Experience across a range of building types
  • Experience investigating water intrusion and performance issues in façade systems
  • Familiarity with ASTM testing standards for air and water infiltration
  • Safety training and/or scaffold certification
  • Proficiency with Bluebeam
